Local SEO is the work that makes your business appear when someone nearby searches for what you offer — in Google Maps, in the local results box at the top of Google, and increasingly in AI-generated answers.
It is a different discipline from regular SEO. Normal SEO competes for blue links across the whole country. Local SEO competes for the three map results shown to someone standing two kilometres away from you, and those three positions get the overwhelming majority of local clicks and calls.
At Webeez Digital, local SEO covers Google Business Profile setup and verification, category and service optimisation, review generation, local landing pages, local schema markup, and citation consistency. Retainers start from PKR 25,000 per month. One-time Google Business Profile setup and verification starts from PKR 20,000.
This is where most Lahore businesses get stuck, and it is why many give up on local search entirely.
Google has effectively retired postcard verification. Video verification is now the standard method, and for many Pakistani businesses it is the only option offered.
Video verification means recording an unbroken video — usually between thirty seconds and five minutes — on your phone at your registered address. Google expects to see external signage, the street number, the surrounding street, the interior of your premises, and evidence you actually operate there: equipment, stock, staff areas, or business documents.
Businesses fail this constantly. Common reasons include no visible external signage, filming in multiple clips instead of one continuous take, an address that does not match what is registered, a home-based or shared office setup, or simply not showing enough proof of operations.
Once a video verification is rejected, re-submitting without changing anything usually fails again.
What we do: we check whether your business qualifies before you attempt verification, tell you exactly what needs to be visible, script the walkthrough so nothing is missed, and handle the submission and appeals process. If your business is home-based or does not have a public premises, we set up a service area business correctly instead — which is often the right answer and is frequently done wrong.
Google publishes only three factors for local results: relevance, distance, and prominence. It does not publish weightings.
Industry research fills in the rest. The 2026 Whitespark Local Search Ranking Factors survey, based on responses from 47 local SEO practitioners, estimates the weighting roughly as Google Business Profile signals 32%, review signals 20%, on-page signals 19%, links 15%, behavioural signals 8%, and citations 7%. Citations, once a core tactic, are declining in importance. The primary category on your profile is considered the single most influential profile setting.
These are practitioner estimates, not Google’s numbers. But the direction is consistent and it tells you where the work should go: your Google Business Profile and your reviews matter more than anything else, and buying hundreds of directory citations is largely wasted money in 2026.
Something significant has shifted, and most agencies in Pakistan are still selling the old version of local SEO.
Whitespark’s 2026 research found AI Overviews appearing on an average of 68% of local business queries, while a traditional local pack appeared on only 39%. For informational local searches the AI Overview rate reached 92%. BrightLocal’s 2026 consumer survey found 45% of consumers now use ChatGPT or a similar AI tool to find local businesses, up from 6% a year earlier.
That does not mean the map pack is dead. It means being visible only in the map pack is no longer enough.
What this changes in practice: information consistency across the web matters more, because AI systems cross-reference sources before naming a business. Recent reviews matter more than old ones. Complete, current profile information matters more than clever keyword placement. And structured data on your website matters, because it is what machines read.
We build for both. The map pack still drives calls today. AI citation is where the next few years are heading.
A caveat worth stating: these figures come from US-based research. We have not seen equivalent Pakistan-specific data, and adoption here is likely behind. We treat this as a clear direction of travel rather than a precise local measurement.
Google Business Profile setup and verification
Profile creation, category selection, service and product listings, business description, hours, attributes, and photos — plus handling video verification and appeals.
Google Business Profile optimisation
Ongoing profile management, weekly posts, Q&A management, photo updates, and keeping information current, which directly affects both ranking and AI citation.
Review generation and management
Systems to consistently request reviews from real customers, respond to every review, and handle negative feedback properly. Reviews are the second largest ranking factor and the most visible trust signal you have.
Local landing pages
Dedicated pages for each service and each area you serve, structured so Google understands which searches you should appear for.
Local schema markup
LocalBusiness, Service, and FAQ structured data so search engines and AI systems can read your business details without guessing.
Citation building and cleanup
Consistent name, address, and phone details across the directories that still matter — with the number kept sensible rather than inflated to justify a bigger invoice.
Competitor analysis
Finding out who is actually ranking in your area for your services, and what specifically they are doing that you are not.
Multi-location setup
Separate profiles and location pages for businesses operating from more than one address.
Monthly reporting
Rankings, profile views, calls, direction requests, and website clicks — with plain explanations of what changed and why.
Local SEO works when customers search for what you do and then travel to you or call you.
It works particularly well for clinics, dentists, and diagnostic labs, restaurants and cafés, real estate agencies and property dealers, law firms and consultants, salons and beauty clinics, gyms and fitness studios, home services like plumbing, electrical, and AC repair, retail shops and showrooms, and automotive services.
It works less well for businesses selling nationally with no physical location, purely online products, or wholesale operations where buyers find you through relationships rather than search. If that is your situation we will tell you, and point you toward regular SEO or paid advertising instead.

Local landing pages, review generation system, citation consistency, and content targeting the searches your customers actually use.

We handle verification, not just optimisation
Most agencies optimise profiles that are already verified. We deal with the harder part — getting unverified and rejected businesses through Google’s video verification.
We build for AI results too
Local search is shifting toward AI-generated answers. We structure your information so both Google Maps and AI tools can read and cite it.
We do not sell citation packages you do not need
Citations carry roughly 7% weight in current research. We do the ones that matter and spend your budget where it works.
Web development and SEO from one team
Local landing pages, schema, and site speed are handled by the same people doing the SEO — not passed between two vendors.
Honest timelines
Three to six months for meaningful movement. We will not promise page one in thirty days.
Clear monthly reporting
Rankings, calls, direction requests, and profile views — with an explanation of what changed, not just a dashboard export.
How do I rank on Google Maps in Pakistan?
You need a verified Google Business Profile with the correct primary category, complete and consistent business information, a steady stream of genuine reviews, local landing pages on your website, and local schema markup. Current industry research attributes roughly 32% of local ranking to Google Business Profile signals and 20% to reviews, making those two the priority.
Why is my business not showing on Google Maps?
The most common reasons are that the profile is not verified, verification was rejected, the primary category is wrong, the business information is inconsistent across the web, the profile has been suspended, or a duplicate listing exists. Distance also matters — you may rank for someone two kilometres away but not five. We can check which of these applies to you.
Does postcard verification still work in Pakistan?
Generally no. Google has moved to video verification, which is now the standard method and often the only option offered to Pakistani businesses. It requires an unbroken video recorded at your business address showing signage, the street, the interior, and evidence you operate there.
Why did my video verification get rejected?
The usual causes are missing external signage, filming in several clips rather than one continuous take, an address that does not match your registration, a home-based or shared workspace, or not showing enough proof of actual operations. Resubmitting the same video will normally fail again. We assess what went wrong and correct the approach before resubmitting.
Can I do local SEO without a physical shop or office?
Yes. Google allows service area businesses that visit customers rather than receiving them. The setup is different from a storefront listing and is frequently configured incorrectly, which causes verification failures and ranking problems. We set it up properly.
How much does local SEO cost in Pakistan?
At Webeez Digital, Google Business Profile setup starts at PKR 20,000 as a one-time service, and monthly local SEO retainers start at PKR 25,000. Across the Pakistani market, freelancers typically charge PKR 20,000 to 50,000 per month and agencies PKR 50,000 to 120,000, with premium campaigns going higher.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Expect three to six months for meaningful ranking movement. Some things improve faster — a correctly optimised profile can start showing better within weeks — but competitive positions in the map pack take time. Anyone guaranteeing page one in thirty days is not being straight with you.
Are citations and directory listings still worth it?
Less than they used to be. Current industry research places citations at around 7% of local ranking weight, and declining. Consistent information on the directories that matter is still worth doing. Buying packages of hundreds of low-quality listings is not.
How do reviews affect my ranking?
Reviews are estimated at around 20% of local ranking weight, second only to your Google Business Profile itself. Quantity, recency, ratings, and whether you respond all count. A steady flow of recent reviews outperforms a large number of old ones.
Is AI search affecting local results?
Yes, significantly. Research in 2026 found AI Overviews appearing on around 68% of local queries compared to 39% for traditional local packs, and consumer surveys show a sharp rise in people asking AI tools for local recommendations. This makes consistent information, recent reviews, and structured data on your website more important than before. Note that this research is US-based; Pakistan is likely behind but heading the same way.
Do you work with businesses outside Lahore?
Yes. We handle local SEO for businesses across Pakistan and internationally. The work is done remotely apart from video verification, which you record yourself at your premises following our script.
Can you fix a suspended Google Business Profile?
Often yes. Suspensions usually come from policy violations such as an ineligible address, keyword stuffing in the business name, or duplicate listings. We identify the cause, correct it, and manage the reinstatement appeal.
Send us your business name and location on WhatsApp. We will check your Google Business Profile, tell you where you currently appear for your main services, and explain what is holding you back — before you spend anything.
